iPod Tips – Ask These Questions Before You Buy an iPod

IiPods.  Minis, Classics, Nanos, Shuffles, Touch …What does it all mean? Finding just the right iPod can be confusing. Ipod technology is constantly changing to keep up with other technological improvements.  When you’re buying an Ipod, you want to make sure you don’t get stuck with an outdated iPod…right?  There is good news.

Believe it or not Apple still makes the original iPod.  Now it’s called the iPod classic.  So don’t worry too much.  Just about any Apple iPod you purchase will still be compatible with whatever downloading system you use.  It’s really that simple. Still there are a few other questions you may want to consider before you purchase your iPod.  You will also want to keep in mind the word iPod is an apple brand name.  Many people use it interchangeably for Mp3 players.  There is a difference.  If it is an iPod you want make sure that’s what you get.

Why do I want an iPod?

What size iPod do I need?

Do I need an iPod or something else?

What iPod Accessories Do I need?

These are all questions you should consider before you purchase your iPod.  Let’s discuss a bit further.

Think about what you plan to do with your new iPod.  If it is just to listen to music while you walk, jog, or do other tasks then an iPod Classic, or an iPod Nano may be just what you need.  If you want picture and video capabilities then you’ll need a larger more expensive iPod .

The number of songs you plan to store on your iPod will make a big difference in the size and the price you’ll pay for your iPod.  If you only want a few songs, the price will be much cheaper than if you’re planning to store hundreds of songs.  Remember, the more space, the higher the cost.

There are many varieties of iPods.  As I said earlier, keep in mind that the word iPod depicts a special Brand.  There are may MP3 players that fill the same needs as iPods. To get a better review visit our Comparisons page.

iPod accessories again will vary depending on your usage.  A skin (case) to protect the iPod is very useful no matter what type of iPod you purchase.  You may also want a remote control, in-ear headphones, adaptors, camera connections, and maybe even software to increase the use of your iPod.   Make sure to consider the price of the accessories as well as the base price of your iPod before you make your final purchase.

Take the time to investigate and choose the iPod options that best suit your needs.  You’ll  get better enjoyment and be happy with your new iPod for years to come.
